and such is life in the blogsphere. But again, thanks to all my readers and lurkers! I'm glad you are around. I will be updating my blog roll later this week to include some new blogs.

Do you know if the fluxuation is due to people really changing subscribing/unsubscribing or just program error in the calculation?

Either way - I totally agree with the post. :)

Yep. This happens to me too. I just assumed that it was people unsubscribing, but it I see it mentioned often enough that I am wondering if their system isn't a little glitched?

I notice that mine fluctuates a lot too. I guess I don't post good content ;)

I've written about subscriber counts fluctuating wildly on several occasions. My main site has about 3000 subscribers, but today it's showing just 1600. Tomorrow it will be back to where it should be. It's almost always a Feedburner glitch, there's just no way that 1400 individuals would bother unsubscribing en masse. It's perhaps hard to appreciate that it's just a glitch if you have a few dozen subscribers, but few people unsubscribe from feeds once they're in unless they only keep a handful at any one time. Take heart. It's usually just one of the services, such as Google Reader, failing to report properly.
